The great return to the railway map of Poland. Free tickets and attractions await

The return of this connection is a real hit for railway enthusiasts and the famous mountain resort. After 25 years, this weekend the train to Karpacz will return to the tracks. This is thanks to the revitalization of the Jelenia Góra - Karpacz railway line, which has been inactive for decades. From June 14, tourists will reach the heart of the Karkonosze resort in just 18 minutes. "The track climbs steeply upwards and it is surprising that there was no rack railway here" - Koleje Dolnośląskie encourages travel.
The retro train in Poland is back on the tracksIn total, 12 pairs of connections are planned daily during the week and 14 pairs daily on holiday weekends. A unique retro attraction has also been prepared to mark the inauguration of the connection.
On Saturday, June 14, passengers will be taken to Karpacz by the same locomotive that was the last to leave the station before passenger traffic was suspended on April 2, 2000. The train was prepared by the Railway Enthusiasts Club from Wrocław, which has been maintaining interest in historic rolling stock for years.
Free tickets to Karpacz and attractions for childrenOn the day of the event, you will be able to pick up free tickets for this journey directly at the stations in Jelenia Góra and Karpacz. The Lower Silesian Road and Rail Service will issue tickets. The rule is "first come, first served", although the exact time has not been announced. It is known that from 9:30, other attractions will also be waiting for passengers: inflatables for children, competitions and military pea soup.
Trains will run: From Jelenia Góra to Karpacz: at 9:30, 11:35, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30, and from Karpacz to Jelenia Góra: at 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, 16:30, 18:30.
The new connection will also benefit towns along the way: the line will be serviced by 12 pairs of trains per day. The Jelenia Góra station will become a transfer hub leading to the most popular towns in the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains: tourists can already travel from there by train to Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów-Zdrój.
