A Pole went shopping in Spain. He showed us where to find local delicacies.

Krzysztof Monastyrski, who has lived in Barcelona for almost five years, went shopping at the Spanish supermarket Mercadona. He did this to show those interested in visiting the city the best places to stock up on everyday essentials. "Today I'm showing you my gems that always end up in my cart," he wrote under one of the Instagram posts on the @monarek_bcn account.
A Pole shopping in SpainAt Mercadona in Spain, a Pole opts for a one-liter carton of gazpacho for €1.60. "Great ingredients, completely natural. 92 percent is just vegetables," he comments. Then he reaches for a jar of Hacendado tuna for €3.70. "Not any luncheon meat, just tuna, oil, and salt," he notes. He also suggests canned tomato puree from the same brand for 98 cents, chips, Cebo Ibérico ham, goat cheese, tomato jam, Greek yogurt, Citronella Body mosquito spray for €1.35, and coconut ice cream.
The video with recommended items didn't stop there. Another time, the Pole recommended items like Chupadedos olives for 3.40 euros, meat for 10 euros per kilogram, cottage cheese for 1.35 euros, Hidrata cream with hyaluronic acid for 5 euros, and a fish stand. Krzysztof assures us that the quality of the goods and the store is completely different from the popular Biedronka supermarket in Poland. He notes that while Mercadona is quite cheap, it offers good products. "It's a completely different league," the Pole's post reads.
Spaniards love this storeIt's no accident that a Pole fell in love with the Spanish store. It turns out it's a firm favorite among locals and tourists alike. The comments following Krzysztof's Instagram post were filled with positive reviews of Mercadona. "I loved it from the moment I walked in. Whenever I'm in Spain , a visit is a must," "My favorite store," and "I love Mercadona products. They also have excellent cosmetics, especially the aloe gel and shampoos; there's a wide selection." These are just a few of the many shared opinions.
Some made no secret of the fact that they were hearing about the store for the first time, revealing they planned to visit during their vacation in the country. Others were surprised by the products the Pole chose and decided to add them to their own Mercadona shopping lists. What do you think of such recommendations?
