"For me, it's an incredible pride to represent all of us Poles in space, in orbit," said Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski during a press conference in Warsaw on Thursday. He emphasized that approximately 500 people worked on his mission.
The astronaut returned to Poland aboard a government plane. During a press conference at Chopin Airport, he began by thanking the Polish ambassador for the "very warm" welcome. Over 200 people awaited him at the Warsaw airport.
Uznański-Wiśniewski also thanked all partners leading the mission: the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Polish Space Agency, the European Space Agency, international partners from NASA and AXIOM.
"About 500 people worked on the mission. They are ready to build equipment, conduct operations, and conduct space experiments," he said. He also expressed hope that in five years, the Polish space sector will play a leading role in space technologies in Europe.
- I will look primarily to the future and I think this is just the beginning - he concluded. (PAP)
