Prime Minister meets with Google CEO. Memorandum on AI signed

Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Google CEO Sundar Pichai have signed a memorandum on the use of artificial intelligence in energy, cybersecurity and other areas. It is assumed that in this way, the company will spend five million dollars on training one million Poles over the next five years.
As Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said at a press conference on Thursday, the topic of talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk were "huge opportunities for Poland in the field of artificial intelligence."
- Leadership, ambition and talent give Poland a new position in European innovation. Poland is currently Google's largest engineering hub. (...) Poland's technological ecosystem has been built by Google for over 20 years - said Pichai.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum on the use of artificial intelligence in the fields of energy, cybersecurity and others.

Google's training programs will also be expanded, which will eventually cover over a million Poles. A total of five million dollars will be allocated for this purpose.

According to the materials shared during the conference, Poland and Google will establish a strategic partnership to accelerate the use of AI. Artificial intelligence is to be used in sectors such as cybersecurity, health care and energy.

The head of government emphasized at the time that Poland is "in the center of interest" for Google and it is "the best place to invest in Europe." On Thursday, he admitted that when he invited Google to cooperate with Poland 11 years ago, he did not think that "the cooperation would have such an impressive punch line."
- Google will be increasingly present here. Thank you very much for signing the memorandum between Google and the Polish Development Fund. We are creating a framework that will enable greater involvement, including investment, of Google in Poland, but what is most important is not only access to the latest technologies from the state's point of view - he noted.
Donald Tusk expressed hope that Google would be part of "a large, ambitious project which is the deregulation of the European and Polish economy and administration."
