A support program for Polish entrepreneurs in the space industry is launched.

Recruitment for the program supporting Polish entrepreneurs in the global space market is now open. Companies qualified for the SpaceTech Program can count on mentoring, a grant, and assistance in preparing products for commercialization. Recruitment begins on August 25th.
Akces NCBR, in cooperation with the Polish Space Agency ( POLSA ) and the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), is launching the SpaceTech Accelerator Program, Akces NCBR announced in a press release sent to the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Monday. SpaceTech is intended to increase the capacity of Polish companies to develop space technologies and support the transfer of technology for new applications.
Recruitment begins on August 25th. According to the announcement, participants qualified for the program will receive mentoring worth up to PLN 100,000 (led by space industry experts), a non-repayable financial grant of up to PLN 300,000, and support in preparing for the commercialization of products and services.
SpaceTech is open to micro and small enterprises registered in Poland, operating for no more than five years, whose activities are related to space technologies. The program is also open to project teams and individuals planning to found a startup.
Program partners POLSA and ARP will be responsible for, among other things, providing substantive support to program participants. ARP also operates the ESA BIC Polska (European Space Agency Business Incubation Centers) program.
"We want to support innovations that will find applications in space and on Earth. We realize that space technologies are one of the key directions of economic development, so implementing the SpaceTech Program will certainly bring many benefits," said Arleta Malasińska, president of Akces NCBR, quoted in the press release.
Łukasz Kotapski, Vice President of the Board of the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), also quoted in the press release, emphasized that SpaceTech is another step in building the competitiveness of the Polish space sector. "Thanks to our cooperation with Akces NCBR and POLSA, we offer startups not only financing, but also know-how and access to the global market. This is an opportunity for Polish innovations to become part of the global technological revolution," he said.
According to POLSA President Marta Wachowicz, also quoted in the press release, technologies developed for space projects are also finding applications in other sectors of the economy. "The growing involvement of Polish entities in the creation of dual-use technologies is particularly important, as they are important both for civilian industry and for national security," Wachowicz concluded.
