Victoria's Secret announces this year's show. This is the second show after an image crisis.

The brand's famous lingerie Angels will once again parade down the runway. After the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returned to New York last year after a six-year hiatus, the brand confirmed that the fashion show will be back this year.

"Lights, camera, angels: The Victoria's Secret 2025 Fashion Show is back, " the brand announced via Instagram. Details of the show will be announced soon. The announced show will be the second after a long hiatus and an image crisis.

Last year's show took place on October 15th in New York , bringing together such modeling icons as Alessandra Ambrosio, Tyra Banks, Barbara Palvin, and Adriana Lima. The show was also graced by the presence of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy's wife, Carla Bruni , who, at the age of 56, made her modeling debut in a Victoria's Secret show. The show was a turning point in the brand's turbulent history, sending a clear signal that it was recovering from an image crisis.

Victoria's Secret image crisis

For years, Victoria's Secret enjoyed immense recognition in the fashion world. Top models strove to achieve Angel status. Spectacular shows that captivated millions of viewers. Accompanying the shows were performances by stage stars. However, behind the facade of beautiful smiles, impressive wings, and skimpy lingerie, many secrets hid, the revelation of which led to a serious crisis for the brand.

This was first undermined by a statement from Ed Razek . In 2018, the Victoria's Secret marketing director, when asked why plus-size and transgender models weren't featured in the shows , replied that the VS shows were "a fantasy, a 42-minute entertainment." In an interview with Vogue, Razek emphasized that he saw no reason why models of slightly different shapes or sizes should appear in the shows.

"Are they supposed to take the place of someone who worked hard for a year to get this opportunity and cried when they heard they had succeeded?" he asked rhetorically.

These words resonated widely in the media and online. At a time when there was so much talk about diversity and acceptance of bodies of all sizes, adherence to established beauty standards began to spark increasing controversy. To alleviate this media scorn, Ali Tate Cutler , a plus-size model wearing a size 44, became Victoria's Secret's muse. This marked the first time a curvy model had been invited to collaborate.

Razek's stance, however, proved insignificant in the face of the facts revealed by the New York Times in a comprehensive report titled "Angels in Hell: The Culture of Misogyny Inside Victoria's Secret." The article alleged that Razek had harassed and humiliated models and employees at the company. It also described the grueling training regimens VS models endured, similar to those of professional athletes, and the fasts they allegedly underwent.

In the face of increasing scandals, the show planned for 2019 was canceled , and the brand began a necessary transformation. Among other things, the group of models representing diverse categories was expanded and clothing sizes were expanded in stores.
