The care benefit will increase in 2026. The amount is given

- The amount of the care benefit from 1 January 2025 is PLN 3,287 per month.
- The benefit amount is increased every year
- Its amount is correlated with the minimum wage.
- From the new year, the minimum wage will increase by 3%.
- Thus, the care benefit will amount to PLN 3,386.
The Announcement of the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy regarding the amount of the care benefit in 2026 was published in Monitor Polski.
The care benefit is indexed annually. The basis for calculating the increase is the percentage increase in the minimum wage.
The new benefit amount is calculated by multiplying the previous year's amount by the indexation rate. The final amount is rounded up to the nearest whole zloty.
Next year, the minimum wage will increase by 3 percent. This amounts to PLN 3,386.
This represents an increase of PLN 99. In 2025, the care benefit increased (compared to 2024) by PLN 299 (from PLN 2,988 to PLN 3,287). At that time, the minimum wage increased by a whopping 10 percent.
Who is eligible for the care benefit? From 1 January 2024, new regulations governing the conditions for granting care benefits , introduced by the Support Benefit Act, come into force.
Care benefits under the new rules may be granted to persons caring for persons with disabilities up to the age of 18.
To receive a care benefit, a person requiring care must have a valid disability certificate together with indications of: the need for permanent or long-term care or assistance from another person due to a significantly limited ability to live independently and the need for permanent daily participation of the child's guardian in the process of the child's treatment, rehabilitation and education, or a certificate of a significant degree of disability.
The following caregivers are entitled to care benefits:
- mother or father,
- other persons who are obliged to pay maintenance, as well as spouses,
- the actual guardian of the child,
- a foster family, a person running a family children's home, a director of a care and educational facility, a director of a regional care and therapeutic facility or a director of a pre-adoption intervention center.
Importantly, it is now possible to combine professional activity , without any restrictions, with receiving care benefits.
If a guardian receiving a care benefit takes care of more than one child, the amount of the benefit is increased by 100% for the second and each subsequent person cared for.
People who were entitled to the care benefit before the changes were introduced in 2024 retained their entitlements. They receive the benefit under the old rules, including without age criteria (if the disability occurred before the person cared for reached the age of majority, it can also be collected after they turn 18), and it cannot be combined with work.
