As the website warszawawpigulce.pl writes, the European Union is introducing new regulations regarding single-use plastic packaging.

From 2026, single-use plastic packaging, which is currently widely used, is to disappear from the market. Plastic trays and containers in fast food will also be phased out.

The new regulations will also affect the packaging of individual fruit and vegetables , and will involve a ban on wrapping them in plastic if the weight does not exceed 1.5 kg.

By 2025, all plastic bottles sold in the European Union will have to contain at least 25 percent recycled plastic, but this percentage is set to rise to 30 percent by the end of the decade in 2030.

In parallel, a mandatory deposit system for PET bottles will be introduced : consumers will pay more when purchasing, but will get part of the amount back when returning the empty packaging.

As the portal warszawawpigulce.pl writes, first of all, cheap disposable packaging will disappear from circulation , which may lead to an increase in product prices. Gastronomy and retail will be forced to reorganize their packaging and customer service systems , and the role of one's own containers and reusable packaging will increase in everyday shopping.

Entrepreneurs who fail to implement ecological solutions on time may face severe financial penalties or even the loss of the right to sell certain products.
