The Ministry of Health announced the launch of a new Accreditation Application Monitoring System (SMWUA) on August 25th. The ministry assures that this will allow for a more transparent procedure, improve standards, and enable better oversight of the entire process.
On August 25th, a new Accreditation Application Monitoring System was launched. This means that all medical facilities seeking accreditation will submit applications exclusively electronically.
As the Ministry of Health reminds us, accreditation is an assessment of the quality of services provided in medical facilities. Its purpose is to:
- improving patient safety,
- unification of procedures,
- development of a quality management culture.
The SMWUA supports this process by accelerating it, streamlining it, and enabling monitoring at every stage. The Ministry of Health is responsible for accreditation and issuing certificates, and the system was developed in collaboration with the e-Health Center and the Center for Quality Monitoring in Healthcare.
What the new system changes:
- Faster and more transparent process – electronic document flow speeds up procedures and facilitates their control.
- Secure documentation – better data security and the ability to monitor the case at every stage.
- Common platform – CeZ, MZ and CMJ work in one system, without communication problems.
- Standardized documents – reports, resolutions and certificates have a single format, easy to analyze and archive.
- More reliable assessment of facilities – minimum levels are required in each group of standards.
- Greater supervision of inspectors – additional mechanisms have been introduced to control the quality of their work.
- Longer certificate validity – the accreditation certificate is now valid for 4 years.
- Better tailoring of services – statistical data analysis allows us to develop services in line with patient needs.
Accreditation confirms that a given facility meets high-quality healthcare standards—both in terms of organization and treatment itself. It guarantees that services are safe, effective, and responsive to patient needs.
