On July 1, France will introduce regulations that will prohibit the use of rainwater, for example, for watering gardens. Violating the new regulations could result in severe financial penalties.
Rainwater collection is a popular phenomenon. Many enthusiasts of saving and using rainwater resources to water the garden or lawn. However, in the near future this type of activity will be illegal.
Super Express reports that from July 1, 2025, using rainwater will no longer be legal in France, among other places . Under the new regulations, collecting rainwater and using it to water gardens or wash cars will be illegal, but only in certain cases.
It turns out that in France, the regulations refer to the ban on using rainwater collected from roofs covered with materials containing asbestos or lead - water flowing from such surfaces may be contaminated with carcinogenic and toxic substances. Penalties for violating the ban include imprisonment for up to three years and heavy fines.
It is worth emphasizing that collecting rainwater in Poland is legal. Rainwater is most often collected using tanks that are easy to place under the gutters, so the roof serves as a natural water collection system.
