There are the first results of the selection of films for the 44th "Youth and Film" Festival in Koszalin

It is already known which films will be shown at the 44th Koszalin Film Debut Festival "Young and Film" in the full-length documentary competition. Out of 37 entries, 12 titles were selected, for two of them these will be premiere screenings - informed the press office of the event.
Applications for film debuts to four competitions of the 44th KFDF "Young and Film" were accepted until April 11. For now, the festival press office has announced the selection result for one of them - the Full-Length Documentary Debut Competition.
"A total of 37 full-length documentary debuts over 60 minutes were submitted. This is a record number of entries for the Full-Length Documentary Debuts Competition. Out of the submitted titles, 12 films were selected," the press office said in a statement.
Two titles will be shown for the first time: "The Boy Who Runs" directed by Natalia Siwicka and "The Other Man" by Krzysztof Kudelski.
The following films have also qualified for the competition: "The Baltic Sea" by Iga Lis, "Being Like Santa" by Aurelia Frydrych-Zdanowska, "I Am a Fictional Character" by Arkadiusz Bartosiak, "There Are Situations Between Us" by Michał Szcześniak, "My Sunnyside" by Matylda Kawka, "Obczyzna" by Piotr Wysocki, "The City That Left" by Natalia Pietsch and Grzegorz Piekarski, "I Bring You Wildness" by Dyba Lach, "This Feeling" by Aleks Baczyński-Jenkins and "Trust Me" by Joanna Ratajczak.
The formula of the 44th KFDF "Youth and Film", which will take place on June 9-14, assumes conducting four competitions for young creators.
In addition to the Full-Length Feature Debuts Competition and the Short Film Debuts Competition: Feature, Documentary and Animated, the Full-Length Documentary Debuts Competition will be organized for the fourth time. For the third time, the festival will include the Teatrotek competition, film adaptations created in the "Teatroteka" project of the Documentary and Feature Film Studio.
The "Young and Film" Festival includes not only screenings of films in competition, but also those outside the competition, including: foreign debuts, retrospectives, special screenings and reviews. An inseparable part of it are the meetings "Sincerity for Sincerity" with the teams of the films in competition, film workshops, panels, conferences and exhibitions. Admission to all open events of the festival is free.
The creators of film debuts compete for the Great Amber and Amber statuettes.
The event is organized by: the Polish Filmmakers Association, the city of Koszalin and the Culture Center 105 in Koszalin (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). The history of the KFDF "Young and Film" dates back to 1973. It is the oldest in the country, during which the viewer has only Polish film debuts. Here, productions have been shown by, among others: Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Filip Bajon, Dariusz Gajewski, Xawery Żuławski, Katarzyna Rosłaniec, Marcin Wrona, Tomasz Wasilewski and Kuba Czekaj.
In last year's edition of the festival, the main awards - Wielkie Jantary - were won by: Grzegorz Dębowski for the full-length feature "Tyle co nic" and Maciej Hamela for the full-length documentary "Skąd gdzie".
