The weekend is almost here and these first days that give a taste of summer, with temperatures rising, take us out of the house, not only to the sea or the mountains. In Italy , in fact, the festivals and events never end, on the contrary! Every week many interesting initiatives are organized that allow us to discover our beautiful country through nature , culture and gastronomy .

Are you curious to know what will happen over the weekend ? Here we have selected the most beautiful festivals and events in Italy organized for June 13, 14 and 15 .

Free Flowing River Paddling Festival, Rome

On the occasion of the Jubilee of Sport, on Saturday 14 June , Rome will host the Free Flowing River Paddling Festival at Tiber Island. The Tiber, crossing the historic centre of the city, forms two natural rapids right at the height of Tiber Island that allow participants and visitors to experience the thrill of paddling in choppy waters right in the heart of the Capital .

The protagonists of the event will be canoes, kayaks, SUPs, dinghies and all the paddle boats that, from 10:00 to 14:00 , will be able to go down the stretch of river between the Garibaldi, Fabricio and Palatino bridges.

Lagoon of Art, Pischeredda Oasis (OR)

On Saturday 14th June , at the Oasi di Pischeredda, in the province of Oristano, starting at 7:00 pm, the closing event Laguna D'Arte, CantinArte al tramonto will be held. It is an aperitif where you can taste the Vernaccia produced in Nurachi combined with Campari, accompanied by local products, such as the sandwich with filleted mullet.

There will be no shortage of music: the Perros de Tabaco will perform, with a sound that mixes singer-songwriter music with the energy of punk, the atmospheres of jazz and the deep vibrations of the blues, and at the end of the evening there will be a musical selection chosen by different DJs.

Open for you under the stars, all of Italy

From June 13th to 15th , in 50 Italian cities, the event Aperti per Voi sotto le Stelle will be held. It is a widespread celebration that allows you to visit some of the most beautiful places in Italy at night, discovering or rediscovering them in a different and suggestive light, the one that goes from sunset to evening, with the stars above your head.

Among the events proposed, for example, we mention the one on June 13 at the Villa dei Volusii Saturnini in the countryside of Fiano Romano. Here, in the setting offered by the archaeological site, you will attend the show “La Notte delle metamorfosi”, written and conceived by the Italian poet and playwright Davide Rondoni in collaboration with Autostrade per l'Italia.

In Piacenza , instead, the Cathedral reveals one of its greatest treasures: the wooden Maestà . Over four meters high, created between 1443 and 1447 by the artists Antonio Burlengo and Bartolomeo da Siena, it represents one of the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. For the occasion, you can admire it up close on Saturday 14 June at 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Museums Walk, Grottammare

Saturday, June 14 , the event Museum Walk arrives in Grottammare, where the museums of the old town will be the protagonists. The program includes a free guided tour of the museum “Il tarpato”, the museum “Sistino di arte sacra” and the museum “Torrione della Battaglia”. Participation is free, but reservations are required because a maximum of 50 people are expected to participate.

27th Suq Festival – Teatro del Dialogo, Genoa

From 12 to 22 June , at the Porto Antico in Genoa and in other places in the city, there will be the 27th Suq Festival – Teatro del Dialogo . Among the first Italian festivals not to use plastic and to put environmental issues at the forefront, the event dedicated to theatre and the stage space has an ever-increasing number of attendees every year (as many as 75,000 in 2024).

On June 12th there will be a theater and cooking performance entitled “My name is Omar” for a fundraiser in support of Gaza, while on June 13th the Nubras Ensemble will perform, an original mix of chamber music and folk from Southern Italy and the Balkans. Cuisine will also be a protagonist of the festival with a showcooking dedicated to the traditions of Ukraine and Ecuador by Chef Kumalé (Saturday 14) and with stands featuring many specialities from 10 cuisines around the world : Greek, Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Senegalese, Syrian-Lebanese, South American, South East Asian, Tunisian and vegan.

Hydrangea Festival, Bolsena (VT)

From June 13th to 15th , Bolsena will host several events on the occasion of the Hydrangea Festival . On Friday 13th there will be the inauguration with a ceremony where Annamaria Mihalache , a young singer and finalist of the program The Voice Kids who will perform the Mameli Anthem, and the Guardia di Finanza Music Band will perform.

Throughout the festival, there will be an exhibition stand that will allow the public to discover the many operational areas of the Guardia di Finanza : from the fight against tax evasion to environmental protection, from economic security to the fight against illicit trafficking. Furthermore, on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June, from 10:30 to 12:00, the future dog units of the Corps will also be there: the public will be able to observe up close the training phases of the puppies destined for the operational departments.

Fish Festival, Trezzano (MI)

Trezzano, on the other hand, will host the Fish Festival from June 13 to 15 and from June 20 to 22. A rich program of events has been created for the occasion, with cabaret, burlesque, live music from tribute bands, shows, magic and street artists. The event, which will take place inside a large covered marquee with over a thousand seats, will feature fish, prepared in various ways and accompanied by selected wines and beers.

The Court of Menelaus will entertain the public with various shows for all ages : on June 13th Gianni Astone will perform, on tour with the show “Una carriera da precario”, on June 14th there will be live music with a tribute to AC/DC , while on June 15th there will be a magic show with Walter Maffei.

Along the River – People, stories, walks, Val Taro (PR)

Val Taro, a valley on the outskirts of Parma , will allow you to travel back in time with the medieval reenactment of Lungo il Fiume – Persone, storie, cammini . On the morning of Saturday 14 June, three routes are proposed by the organization on the trail of the Via Francigena, while the actual reenactment will be from 16:00 to 20:00 and on Sunday 15 June from 10:00 to 18:00.

The La Mandragora Association , together with other historical reenactment companies, will faithfully reconstruct activities and professions of the 14th century, taking inspiration from historical documents and museum finds. In the large green space inside the Corte di Giarola, an area under the management of the Ente Parchi del Ducato, medieval firearms, desks, knights, hunting objects and benches with the mint, the leatherworker, the knitter, or dedicated to tailoring, ceramics will come back to life. There will also be an archery range, open to anyone who wants to try their hand.

On Saturday 14th at 6:00 pm and Sunday 15th at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, the La Mandragora Association will also offer ceramic workshops for children and adults at the ceramist's stand. Finally, the kitchen of the “Corte di Giarola” restaurant will be open all day.

Villa Medici, Rome

A unique opportunity at Villa Medici where, only on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th , it will be exceptionally opened as part of the large multi-year project “Restoring the Enchantment to Villa Medici”. The French Academy in Rome invites the public to enter this historic building and admire the halls, guest rooms and historic gardens completely reinvented.

The redevelopment campaign that began in 2022 has redesigned six new rooms, where each space represents a microcosm, a dialogue between history and contemporary creation , between decorative plaster and carved wood, between natural light and harmonized volumes. These unique spaces, once reserved for the painters of the Académie, today offer a breathtaking view of Rome and an immersion in a cultural luxury that dialogues with time.

Na.tur.Art, Dossena and Roncobello

Na.tur.Arte begins on Friday 13 June, the immersive cultural festival that involves the municipalities of Dossena and Roncobello with the aim of enhancing the territory by making it a cutting-edge cultural and tourist hub. The program of the festival develops for an entire month and includes over 15 events , 4 artist residences, inauguration of site-specific works of art, excursions , performances, participatory activities and workshops .

On Friday the 13th there will be a sound performance by Stefano Caimi and, to follow, the Berlin DJ set by YTU, one of the protagonists of the German underground scene.

Among the experiences offered by the festival we mention the guided tour of the cultural heritage of Roncobello, the tour of the murals of Dossena and the experiential walk around Magnitudo. In addition, you will have the opportunity to discover some attractions of the area such as the “Ponte nel Sole”, the longest Tibetan bridge in the world with discontinuous tread and without lateral tie rods.
