These secret corners of paradise are the beaches of Liguria without crowds in summer

Liguria rhymes with overtourism , especially in summer. Whether it's a short weekend or a week at the seaside, the region welcomes a large number of visitors who come mainly from Lombardy and Piedmont but not only. The beaches, due to their shape, are narrower and less spacious than those of the Adriatic, therefore, to be able to relax and enjoy the wonderful sea it is important to choose the beaches of Liguria without crowds.
Calandre Beach in VentimigliaWe are almost on the border with France and here the sea is very reminiscent of the French Riviera . One of the secret and less frequented beaches of Liguria is Calandre. The small wild and authentic stretch can be reached after a small path and is often frequented by surfers.
Crena Point in NoliNoli is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and in addition to the equipped and free establishments in the center of the town it boasts some gems like Punta Crena . It is a small secret cove that many reach by trekking along a rugged path on the sea suitable only for expert hikers. Not very frequented precisely because it is difficult to reach, our advice is to visit it by renting a boat , or by moving with a pedal boat or a canoe rented from the nearby establishments.
Corvo Point in MontemarcelloIn the La Spezia area, when you think of the sea, everyone points to the Cinque Terre in Lerici or Tellaro, but there are some lesser-known gems like Punta Corvo that deserve attention. It is part of the Ameglia area and more precisely in the Punta Corvo hamlet. The locals call it “the beach of crò” and it is located in front of the Palmaria island. Even awarded by Legambiente as one of the most beautiful in Italy, it is not easily accessible: for this reason, few people venture onto the path to reach it, yet the sea here is a little gem.
There is a staircase from Montemarcello of about 30 minutes, the route is definitely more challenging on the way back when after a day of sun you have to face the climb. The beach is intimate, not equipped and with small pebbles that decorate the seabed. A more practical way is to rent a boat starting from Bocca di Magra or Fiumaretta.
Murena Point in AlassioAlassio is not known for its wide and little-trodden beaches, yet by moving away a little from the historic center and positioning yourself in front of Gallinara you can swim at Punta Murena , an equipped beach that gives space to every visitor, mixing sand, blue sea and a little greenery given by the pine forest behind.

In the Gulf of Poets in Lerici there are coves like Caletta di Lerici . Getting there is challenging and you find yourself immersed among holm oaks, pines and olive trees with a scent that characterizes the coast. The beach is enchanting and so is the seabed. Many snorkelers frequent it for what can be observed in terms of fauna but those who practice diving can even see the remains of a Roman ship wrecked during the transport of columns that should have been used for the temple of Venus.
Pay attention to the light: it is sunny only in the morning , while in the afternoon it becomes shaded. To get there you need to move from Lerici towards Tellaro choosing the direction Fiascherino then following a narrow path until you reach a staircase that leads to the beach.
Maramozza CoveLerici is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and here you can find some dream beaches. Some people compare Cala di Maramozza to a small Thailand and looking at the photos you can see the reason for this nickname. Some people reach it by canoe or with a sup enjoying snorkeling but it is also possible to follow a path with steep steps for those who love trekking in nature.
Saracens BayBetween Noli and Varigotti in summer it is difficult to find uncrowded beaches but Baia dei Saraceni is certainly one of these. It is surrounded by rocks and this is what makes it so exclusive; even though it is not among the secret beaches, to reach it you need a good pace and suitable shoes. Tourists looking for maximum comfort do not choose it and thanks to this it is not overloaded even in August. From here the best point is Punta Prodani , a very little-known bay with unique colors.

Not only the La Spezia area has jewels, in the province of Savona in Bergeggi the locals love Punta Prodani a true jewel known for a staircase that has become as iconic as it is dangerous. Free and with a wild soul, it is located between Varigotti and the Baia dei Saraceni, other jewels not to be missed during a holiday in Liguria . On the seabed there is a wreck, that of the ocean liner Transylvania sunk during the First World War.
Sirens Beach in BergeggiAnother pearl in Bergeggi is the Lido delle Sirene which is located right in front of the island. To reach it you need comfortable shoes and a little patience. You have to climb 187 steps to get to the bay but the effort is amply repaid by the crystal clear sea and the view. There are also those who, for convenience, reach it by boat.
