Smartwatches Make Europeans More Health-conscious

Eight out of ten Europeans, in possession of a smartwatch, have adopted healthier lifestyles. I European Health Behaviour Survey 2025 results, analysis conducted by Ipsos on behalf of Huawei, highlight the role increasingly central to smartwatches in the management of personal well-being. In fact, over 80% of Europeans declare of having adopted healthier behaviors with the possession of a smartwatch, from increased physical activity to better quality of sleep. The report highlights a shift from simple passive data recording to real management active health. The research shows that 78% of Europeans recognise a direct correlation between lifestyle and well-being, thanks to the information provided by the device, also recognizing the main body parameters: blood pressure, blood pressure level blood sugar, heart rate/pulse, saturation of oxygen in the blood and electrocardiogram (ECG). Monitoring physical activity is the most used feature among those offered by devices wearables, with 68% of users consulting it daily. Furthermore, 78% of Europeans practice at least minimum level of physical activity recommended by the guidelines of the WHO. However, only 41% set a daily target of steps, with an average of between 7,000 and 8,000 per day. 93% of professionals have already recorded visits from part of patients following a notification received from a smartwatch. 53% of the European population checks their phone daily heart rate and pulse monitoring, but it is the blood pressure, indicated by 76% of Europeans, the health parameter considered most important. Further back the sleep, with only 8% of physicians indicating it as a measure of relevant health.
