Amazon, from EU SMEs sales for 15 billion, mostly to the 27

"The EU SMEs that generated sales abroad through Amazon in 2024 are more than 127,000, for a value of 15 billion euros. 45% of these small and medium-sized enterprises operate in rural areas, where over 45,000 companies have achieved exports for 6 billion euros. The main destinations for sellers' exports, towards non-EU countries are: the United States (over 2 billion euros), the United Kingdom (over 900 million euros) and Canada (over 100 million euros)." This is what Amazon reports in its report on the impact on SMEs in 2024.

The European Single Market, Amazon explains, remains a key growth engine: four of the top five export destinations for EU companies selling on Amazon are to other EU Member States. The majority of EU SME trade remains within the European Single Market: intra-EU SME exports have exceeded €12 billion. "We are committed to helping European SMEs succeed across Europe. We have always been a consistent supporter of the Single Market. In fact, we are talking to legislators and officials to ask them to make it even easier for entrepreneurs to sell in Europe and sell internationally," said David Zapolsky, Director of Global Affairs and Legal Counsel at Amazon.
