Al Bano slams everyone: "Romina? She broke her agreement with her children. At Sanremo, they're treating me like an idiot."

Al Bano vented in a long interview with La Stampa, starting with his ex-wife Romina Power , guilty of having violated the agreement with his children, and various Sanremo hosts who no longer invite him as a competitor.

Speaking of Romina, Al Bano believes she unfairly criticized him regarding her last concert in Russia : "She could have avoided making an unfortunate and untruthful statement; she hadn't been invited to that concert... they're all full of untruths. Before going, I asked what concert it was; it was for the Economic Forum , which has been held for 15 years: this time they chose me, and I went."

The ex-wife then spoke of her secret love affairs: "But I don't want to talk about that. She made her choice, I had nothing to say and everything to suffer... in polite silence, I made my choice. She couldn't keep the agreement, according to which the children would stay with me until they were 18 to study. So I made a life for myself. Living in that house without the children's voices was impossible."

Returning to the controversy over Russia : "I noticed a great desire for peace, when I thought there was war. Instead, there was no tension: what do we know about what's happening there? I saw normality. After I showed my documents upon arrival, the gendarmes even wanted to have a photo taken with me." " Zelensky knows he's up against an elephant," continues the singer from Bari. In Ukraine, when I spoke well of Putin , they blacklisted me. So I went to the Ukrainian embassy in Rome and interviewed me... they understood and revoked the measure, when I explained the point of view of an artist..."

Al Bano, however, gets wild when it comes to Sanremo 2026 : "I was used to a man named Pippo Baudo, Amadeus and Carlo Conti showed me that the world has changed. When it comes to a proposal, you can say yes or no, but they mustn't make you look like an idiot. Words must carry weight. Do I have to pass the exams with them? If anything, they should pass the exams with me, given my age and experience... without presumption. In my life, I've always chosen encounters that are enjoyable from a human perspective."
