Violin and violinist from Cremona to Osaka on an Expo mission

A master violinist from the Casa Stradivari Foundation and a violin Made in Cremona will be the protagonists of a mission to Japan, funded by the Lombardy Region with twenty thousand euros, at the suggestion of the Councilor for Culture, Francesca Caruso . The event will take place in Osaka from October 6 to 13, 2025, during the final week of the Expo, which is expected to attract over 28 million visitors over the six months. The Italian Pavilion will host a special program, with several performances showcasing the genius of Cremonese violin making to the world. The trip for both instrument and artist will be organized by the Municipality of Cremona with funding from the Region. "I wanted Lombardy to present itself to the world with one of its most beautiful symbols, the sound of a handmade violin," says Councilor Caruso, of the Italian League (FdI), noting that Lombardy has also passed "a law protecting Cremonese violin making."
