Together against educational poverty

Daniela Fatarella and Alessandra Carra sign the agreement between the Feltrinelli Group and Save the Children.
"The scourge of educational poverty , linked to material poverty, affects us all, putting the present and future of countless children at risk every day." In Italy, 26.7% of minors were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2024: over 2 million girls, boys, and adolescents deprived of the opportunity to develop their abilities, talents, and aspirations. Thus, Feltrinelli and Save the Children are announcing a joint program of activities involving all Feltrinelli bookstores, where fundraising initiatives will be launched for Christmas. The initiative will support Save the Children's seven Punti Luce (Light Points)—educational centers that offer free training and education to students aged 6 to 17—from Milan to Naples. The Milanese publishing house becomes the exclusive book partner of the Punti Luce (Light Points), committing to providing books and enlivening the centers with initiatives. "We are proud," comments Alessandra Carra, CEO of Feltrinelli, "to launch this collaboration with a prestigious and competent organization like Save the Children. Reaching those most in need with books and authors means promoting the culture of books as an irreplaceable tool for education and information." Daniela Fatarella, CEO of Save the Children, adds: "When companies and organizations share values and goals, such as combating educational poverty, synergies are created that can generate concrete and lasting change. A book is much more than an object: it is a powerful tool for growth, discovery, and awareness."
