The musicians of the Oscar Movie Ensemble perform in concert at the Church of Santa Marta in Varenna. This extraordinary concert, part of the sixth edition of the Varenna Festival , takes place this evening at 9:15 pm in a charming and intimate setting. Founded in 2006, the ensemble is composed of exceptional instrumentalists, all with distinguished careers as soloists and principals of major Italian opera and symphony orchestras: Mauro Navarra on flute, Maurizio Mautone on guitar, Alessandro Marino on violin, Eduardo Caiazza on viola, and Alessandro D'Elia on cello. They will be joined by the voice of Alina Di Polito. The artists are dedicated to celebrating great film music by revisiting themes that have shaped the history of world cinema. They have performed in the Czech Republic, Hungary, the United States, Spain, China, and Kazakhstan. Admission is free, subject to availability. The setlist features songs from Charlie Chaplin films, as well as The Mission, Oblivion, Forrest Gump, Don't Cry for Me Argentina, Il Postino, and Life Is Beautiful. A magical evening in one of the most beautiful villages on the Lario.
