The Masters of Funk. Coming to Segrate. Kool & The Gang

Over sixty years of career in one night. The foot in the past of the program with which the Parco della Musica continues in Segrate this first edition today includes the return to Milan of Kool & The Gang . Or rather what remains of it, namely 74-year-old bassist Robert Earl “Kool” Bell , the last “surviving founding member” of the band that hit the road in 1964 together with drummer George “Funky” Brown (who passed away in 2023), saxophonist Dennis “Dee Tee” Thomas (who passed away in 2021), and guitarist Claydes “Charles” Smith (who passed away in 2006). Entities that are still very present, however, in the sound of what remains one of the reference bands of r&b , soul and funk from the 60s to the 80s. Bell & Co.'s discography includes 23 studio albums and around seventy singles that have allowed them to sell over 70 million records and earn 2 Grammys so far. Last year the group was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . An.Spi.
