“The Allegory of Fire” among the works exhibited in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana
A focus on Flemish art, the protagonist with the precious and refined reorganization of room seven of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana . Thirty-two masterpieces by two much-loved artists, present in the collection of Cardinal Federico Borromeo, Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625), whose death is 400 years old, and Paul Bril . Technology helps. The public will be able to grasp the “miniaturist” details of the works using three interactive touch screens that reveal hidden details of Brueghel’s works, which are numerous. It’s a bit like admiring Bosch’s paintings, with so many elements.
The interesting thing is that once you have discovered the details on the screen, you can see them again in an "intimate" dimension, favored by the rearrangement that has chosen blue as the guiding color. Not only that, by clicking you can get all the information on the work and the cardinal's correspondence. An engaging and educational installation that can help many young people to approach art. The collection includes some masterpieces such as the Vase of Flowers with Jewel, Coins and Shells (1606 Jan Brueghel), the Allegory of Fire and the Allegory of Water (1608-1621 Jan Brueghel), the Sea View (1611 Paul Bril), and even the holy water stoup (1606-1607 Jan Brueghel, Girolamo Marchesini) used by Federico Borromeo.
Having become archbishop of Milan, he brought with him Jan Brueghel, with whom he maintained a continuous relationship of patronage even when the painter returned to Antwerp, as evidenced by the correspondence preserved in the Ambrosiana. The art of the two painters was particularly congenial to Cardinal Federico, who wrote: "God reveals himself not only in sacred history, but also in the great and wonderful book of nature and creation".
The multimedia installation was created by Black Srl with the collaboration of Limiteazero. "The enjoyment of works of art is changing, and this digital experience does not take anything away from the contemplation of the beauty of the work", adds Valerio Saffirio CEO of Black. Synergies, concludes the director of the Pinacoteca Alberto Rocca "that allow us to celebrate this important anniversary".
