Teatro di San Carlo, end of year show with the students of the dance school

The curtain will rise at 8:30 pm on Monday 23 June for the students of the Ballet School of the Teatro di San Carlo, the oldest in Italy, directed by Clotilde Vayer. On stage the choreographies prepared for the end-of-year show that will see the young dancers, from the preparatory courses up to the Eighth Course, engaged in a performance divided into two sections.
The first part, with exercises at the barre and at the center, is curated by the masters Pedro Carneiro, Rossella Lo Sapio, Annarita D'Agostino and Massimo Sorrentino. The Adagio follows, choreographed by Soimita Lupu and Alessandro Staiano on music by Fryderyk Chopin, Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij and Riccardo Drigo: they will be performed on the piano by Vincenzo Astarita, Giuseppe Burgarella, Alfredo Giordano Orsini and Antima Pepe. The second part offers a triptych that crosses different choreographic styles and languages. It opens with “Czarda” from “Raymonda” by Marius Petipa to music by Aleksandr Glazunov, performed by the students of the Advanced Courses from the Fifth to the Eighth, under the guidance of the masters Pedro Carneiro and Massimo Sorrentino. It follows with “Suite de danse”, signed by Ivan Clustine to music by Fryderyk Chopin, entrusted to the young students of the first courses up to the Third prepared by Rossella Lo Sapio and Annarita D'Agostino. The evening closes with “Oltre la pelle”, a contemporary creation by Alessandro Amoroso, which will involve the students from the Third to the Eighth Course.
Both sections will end with a collective finale, which will see the participation of the entire Dance School.
