Reviews: All the news from the 2025 edition of San Marino Comics

San Marino is preparing to once again host one of the most anticipated events in the Italian cultural and pop scene: San Marino Comics , scheduled for August 29th to 31st. Organized by the San Marino Comics Association and LEG Live Emotion Group, the festival, now in its twelfth year, seeks to innovate and experiment, with an increasingly harmonious vision integrated with the unique setting of the Republic's historic center. The festival will be held under the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Tourism, the Secretariat of State for Industry, the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the Secretariat of State for Health, and the Castle Council of San Marino, and in collaboration with the Tourism Office. Following the success of previous editions, which saw San Marino's historic center overrun by enthusiasts, artists, cosplayers, and families, this year the Republic will immerse itself in the wonderful world of fairy tales. The chosen tagline is "WHISPER," an invitation to lose yourself—and find yourself—in the beating heart of fairy tales: Whisper, the whisper that guides the path between light and shadow, between enchantment and anxiety. Inspired by the famous stories of the Brothers Grimm, this fairytale journey will transform the entire festival into an enchanted kingdom, where characters like Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Cinderella, and Rapunzel will come to life through immersive sets, live animations, and interactive experiences designed for all ages. The "whisper" is the invisible thread that runs through every tale, the mysterious silence of the forest, the whisper of Hansel and Gretel lost among the trees, the suspended sweetness of the kiss that awakens Snow White. It is an echo of emotions that unites children and adults, speaking of fear and hope, courage and wonder. The theme explores the dual nature of fairy tales—the bright and the darker—offering audiences a profound and engaging experience: every fairy tale is, ultimately, a mirror reflecting who we are, what we fear, and what we dream of becoming. The poster's author is Livia De Simone, a talented illustrator and visual artist who collaborates with major Italian and international publishers such as Giunti, Fanucci, and DZ Edizioni, as well as creative companies such as Cubicle Seven and Beyond Worlds, who boasts one of the new covers for Robert Jordan's celebrated saga, The Wheel of Time.
