Great success for the Gattopardo Biennale: over 15,000 visitors
The second edition of the Biennale del Gattopardo ended with record numbers, having registered over 15,000 admissions in 2025, welcoming visitors from all over Sicily and other Italian regions. A result that confirms the central role of Palma di Montechiaro as a city of culture, an objective strongly desired and pursued by Mayor Stefano Castellino, who has already announced the third edition of the event in 2026. The event was inaugurated by the conference “Art and Culture.
Can one exist without the other?”, conceived by the artistic director Michele Citro and immediately supported by the mayor Castellino and the councilor Giuseppe Petrucci. Mayor Castellino, during his opening speech, expressed deep gratitude to Citro, recognizing his commitment not only in the artistic curatorship, but also in his constant presence and in the ability to welcome and guide visitors, he illustrated the path of renaissance undertaken by the city of Palma di Montechiaro, sharing with Prof. Cecchi Paone the importance of the history, of the beauty of Palma.
Among the speakers at the conference was Alessandro Cecchi Paone, who praised the mayor for the image that the city today manages to convey to visitors. Particular appreciation was given to the Palazzo Ducale, defined by Cecchi Paone as “spectacular from every point of view”. With such a large participation and growing enthusiasm around the event, the Biennale del Gattopardo confirms itself as one of the most important cultural events in the Sicilian panorama, with its gaze already turned to the challenges and objectives of 2026.
