Boeing’s Political Spending Spree: Nearly $1 Million in Donations Amid Heightened Scrutiny

Boeing is fighting to win back public trust – and it’s spending big in Washington.

Even before last week’s Air India crash brought renewed scrutiny to Boeing’s safety practices, the company had been ramping up its political spending in Washington: During the first five months of 2025, Boeing’s federal political action committee distributed nearly $1 million among almost 300 political committees, a Skift analysis of Federal Election Commission records found.

These committees include the campaigns of dozens of members of Congress, so-called “leadership PACs” that members of Congress use to help bankroll political allies and national party committees, such as the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Prominent politicians that have already received maximum $5,000 contributions include House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) and M-PAC, the leadership PAC of Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), the ranking member on the Sena
