Microsoft down live: Thousands of Outlook, Minecraft, Xbox and 365 users hit by issues

It seems that most of Microsoft's platforms are now working again. Azure, 365, Outlook and the Microsoft Store are showing signs of recovery with Down Detector reports dropping by a considerable amount. Only Xbox and Minecraft appear to be affected, with reports remaining high on these services.
Microsoft has just posted an update on X with the company confirming its 365 service is having issues due to Azure being offline.
Here's the post in full.
"We’re investigating reports of issues accessing Microsoft 365 services and the Microsoft 365 admin center.
"Microsoft 365 services are experiencing downstream impact related to the ongoing Azure outage.
"We’ve identified portions of internal infrastructure that are experiencing connectivity issues. We’re unblocking these systems and redistributing traffic to support recovery, as we continue our work to reroute affected traffic to restore service health."
Latest Down Detector stats show reports are dropping. However, services such as Minecraft, Xbox and Outlook are still showing signs of major issues.
Here is the latest update from Microsoft Azure.
"We are taking two concurrent actions where we are blocking all changes to the AFD services and at the same time rolling back to our last known good state.
"We have failed the portal away from AFD to mitigate the portal access issues. Customers should be able to access the Azure management portal directly.
"We do not have an ETA for when the rollback will be completed, but we will update this communication within 30 minutes or when we have an update."

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform created by the US technology giant. The online service offers a comprehensive range of cloud-based tools and that enable individuals and organisations to build, deploy, and manage applications through Microsoft’s global network of data centres. When it goes down, the knock-on effect can be huge for businesses across the world.
Another service that has hit the buffers is the Microsoft Store. At its peak, over 1,500 reports were flooding in, stating that this shopping platform was down and inaccessible. Microsoft Store offers access to apps and games which can be downloaded onto devices.
Social media continues to be bombarded with complaints about the Microsoft outage. Here are a few of the moans appearing on X (formerly Twitter).
"Microsoft down - epic end to the day," said Lee.
"Can Microsoft not be down right now, please?" added Xmegular.
"What's going on with Outlook/365? Is it down? Is your system under attack? What's going on?," asked Toads.
Microsoft has just updated its service status and confirmed there are ongoing issues with its servers.
"Starting at approximately 16:00 UTC, we began experiencing DNS issues resulting in availability degradation of some services," Microsoft confirmed in an update.
"Customers may experience issues accessing the Azure Portal. We have taken action that is expected to address the portal access issues here shortly. We are actively investigating the underlying issue and additional mitigation actions."
The US company says it will be updating its status every 60 minutes.
If things weren't bad enough for Microsoft users, it also appears some are struggling with the firm's Outlook email service as well. Right now there are over 500 reports that things aren't working as they should.
Outlook joins Minecraft, 365 and Azure with reports of issues.

There has been a flurry of activity on website outage monitor Down Detector with many of Microsoft's services showing issues.
Currently, there are issues for the firm's Azure, Minecraft, Microsoft 365 and Xbox platforms.
Some have peaked at over 6,000 reports, which means this is a major outage affecting plenty of users.

Social media is now being flooded with reports that Microsoft is struggling tonight.
Posting on X, one Minecraft fan said, "Aw man, Minecraft is down"
Whilst another asked, "Are the minecraft servers down? My game isn't working."
Reports started flooding in around 4.15pm today with outage monitor Down Detector showing services such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Minecraft are all not working.
