If you missed your chance to acquire one of the most iconic Alfa Romeos of the 1960s and 1970s last year at Osenat's sale of the collection of Swiss Gérald Bugnon, RM Sotheby's is offering you a chance to catch up. During its flagship sale, organized as part of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in mid-August, the auction house will be selling a collection of 12 models from the Arèse firm's heyday. The flagship of this collection, nicknamed the "Quadrifolio," is undoubtedly one of the ten T33/2 prototypes still in existence. This is chassis 015, known for having been the first factory car equipped with the rare 2.5-liter V8. The T33/2 "Daytona" has a serious track record. It raced under the official banner of the Autodelta department in 1968 and then under the colors of Team VDS in 1969. Champions such as Lucien Bianchi, Mario Andretti, and Nino Vaccarella drove it competitively. In the mid-1980s, Frenchman Jean Chambault acquired it in Angola. It is estimated at between $1.7 million and $2 million.

The collection also includes a 1964 Giulia TZ1. Bearing chassis number 50061, this Tubolare is the only one in the series to feature a double-humped roof. Its first owner was Dmitri Nabokov, son of the famous novelist. Its predecessor, the famous 1961 Coda Tronca-bodied SZ, is also among the legends of this Alfa Romeo collection. Also notable are two examples of the GTA coupe: a 1966 version estimated at between $125,000 and $175,000, and one of only 40 examples of the 1970 1750 GTAm produced by Autodelta. The one in the sale was delivered new in Belgium.
