In Royan, the Surfing Weekend surfs between the raindrops

The event brings together board sports, music, and associations. The 7th edition of the festival continues this Sunday, September 14, on Pontaillac beach and throughout the Royan region.
The wind isn't the enemy of all athletes. While it made things difficult for the thousand or so participants in the 15th Royan Triathlon, it did delight the apprentice sand yacht pilots. The world of "slides" isn't sectarian. In Pontaillac, the surfers' beach, sand yachting is also a popular activity, during the Weekend de la Glisse .
The event, conceived and organized by Xavier Renaudin, extends beyond Royan's chic beach, with initiations at nine different sites in total. This Sunday, September 14, will once again be rich in discoveries of sports related to board sports in the broadest sense of the term. The bravest will take a dip in the sea with the Poules Mouchées at 8:30 a.m. or try their hand at water walking at 9 a.m.

Where there's surfing, there's music. Friday and Saturday evenings saw established acts No Scientists and Le Peuple de l'Herbe, along with other promising local and regional bands, perform on the stage set up on Pontaillac beach. This Sunday, late afternoon, Andrick Airways will be responsible for bringing this new edition of the sports and music festival to a close, as well as being open to associations working in the fields of solidarity, prevention, and the environment.
