Bulls and Salsa 2025 in Dax: after, Margé jump and minute of silence in our echoes from the callejon of the bullfight on September 13

Six bulls by Robert Margé for Esau Fernandez (bow to the third and applause), Juan de Castilla (1 ear and lap of the ring) and José Fernando Molina (silence and applause)
Robert Margé did not linger in Dax after the bullfight on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The breeder from Fleury-d'Aude resigned himself to not hearing a single note of salsa after his bulls went out into the ring, in order to be back at his ganaderia as quickly as possible.
This Sunday, at the crack of dawn, the ganadero must supervise the loading of his bulls, which will be fought a few hours later in the Arles amphitheater by a trio of bullfighters made up of Juan Leal, Diego San Roman and Samuel Navalon. Having not been able to enjoy an evening in the casetas of the arena park, Robert Margé consoled himself by loading the trophy of the bullfighting critics' association into the trunk of his car, rewarding the best batch of bulls presented in the Southwest during the 2024 bullfighting season.
One ovation, two injuredJuan de Castilla received a standing ovation before fighting his first bull, on his return to the ring just two weeks after being gored – from the thigh to the rectum – by a bull from Arauz de Robles that he was fighting at the Bayonne Atlantic Fair.
Surprisingly, the Dax public, on the other hand, did not really applaud José Fernando Molina in the next bull, even though this matador from Albacete was also the victim of a cornada during the same bullfight. Their cartel companion, Esau Fernandez, rectified the situation by offering his fight against the fourth Margé to the two bullfighters who overcame their injuries.
Two bare headsFor the first of the bullfights scheduled for this edition of Toros y salsa, this Saturday, September 13, two of the three bullfighters of the cartel paraded bareheaded. As a way of symbolizing that this was their presentation before the public of the Dax bullring, Juan de Castilla and José Fernando Molina held their montera in hand, undoubtedly with the ambition of being able to repeat this crossing of the ring wearing their hats during one of the bullfights of the next Dax feria. The answer will be in the spring.
The Margé jumpTwo bulls last year, two others (coming out in second and fourth place) during this Saturday bullfight of Toros y salsa. Robert Margé's cattle seem to take a malicious pleasure in frightening the people present in the callejon of the Dax bullring. One of the surgeons of the Dax medical team, Damien Ribeyre, thus received two shots of adrenaline during the charges against the boards of Margé's bulls. The attitude, however, divides: desire to flee the ring or desire to devour anyone who ventures into the ring? The debate is open.
A centenarian at the SplendidThe cuadrilla of "Toros", the French bullfighting magazine which celebrates its centenary this year 2025, will be at the Hotel Splendid in Dax, starting at 11 a.m. this Sunday, September 14. Some members of this editorial team will present and sign the book "De Biou y Toros à Toros - 1925-2025 - 100 ans de passion" published to celebrate these hundred years of publication.
Two hats for CurroAlready present at the fair, as mayoral of the Pedraza de Yeltes ganaderia, Curro Sanchez wore another hat during this Saturday's Toros y salsa bullfight. Dressed in a vermillion and gold jacket and mounted on the horse Ulysses, the Salamanca native pricked the third bull in this race, hired as picador by José Fernando Molina.

A minute of silence was held after the Paseo on Saturday morning in memory of Manuel Trindade, 22, who died on Saturday, August 23, at the São José hospital. He did not survive the accident with a bull that occurred the day before in the Campo Pequeno bullring in Lisbon. While running toward the animal from the Vinhas farm to provoke it to charge, the man was lifted up and thrown against the boards.
On the track this Saturday morning in Dax, the Rouxinols father and son each had their own vuelta, facing an uneven bullfight from Campos Peña, and some bulls that were a little too docile. Chamusca's forcados provided the essentials, and one of them even had to be taken to hospital as a precaution for a head scan, after a collision with the second bull in the race. A third of the arena.
