What is listeria and what are the risks?

Some forty cheeses have been recalled due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These are soft cheeses made from pasteurized milk and all come from the same cheese factory. Twenty-one cases of listeriosis are possibly linked to these contaminations, including two fatalities.
