Marsannay-la-Côte. Disability: “When you have a job, you are happy”

That day, shortly before 9 a.m., the atmosphere was as serious as it was relaxed within the Acodège work support establishment and service (ESAT) in Marsannay-la-Côte. On the occasion of the structure's upcoming open house (read elsewhere), one of the largest in Côte-d'Or*, we went to meet some of the approximately 230 people with disabilities supported.
At this ESAT, workers have mental health and/or intellectual disabilities, and some have visual impairments. For pay, they sometimes work 35 hours a week, sometimes less, depending on their wishes and abilities. "We have a lot of part-time work and flexible working hours," explains Sandrine Estivalet, deputy director.
