Lunéville. World Alzheimer's Day: The Orangerie Media Library is organizing workshops to raise awareness of the disease.

On Wednesday, September 24, the Lunéville intercommunal media library, the Orangerie, will jointly organize with France Alzheimer and the ESA (Alzheimer's Specialized Team) of Lunéville, a day dedicated to this disease with workshops, debates, and film screenings. This day is organized in reference to World Alzheimer's Day, which takes place on September 21 and falls on a Sunday.
"We're holding it a little later because we're closed on Sundays and Mondays, but Wednesday is our most influential day, so it's likely to reach more people," says Sandrine Claudon, director of the Orangerie .
The Lunéville branch of France Alzheimer is operating at the Orangerie for the third year. The various workshops (shiatsu, sophrology, sound journeys, etc.) will be offered by association professionals. A bus will also be parked in front of the media library for some of these workshops. For their part, the media library teams have created "a documentary collection on this subject for adults and albums to raise awareness among children about the disease," explains the director.
The day will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with sessions also available for caregivers. A free memory screening test will be available to all.
At the end of the day, an award-winning short film will be shown, with a debate on the disease as a key.
Wednesday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Orangerie. Free admission. Registration required for workshops (tel. 03 83 73 78 78) or by email ([email protected]).
