A guided cruise on the Garonne allowed the elderly residents of the nursing home to escape and rekindle memories.
On July 18, residents of Clos d'Aliénor, a nursing home located in Le Bouscat, took a guided cruise aboard the Burdigala II. It was a highly anticipated cultural outing that gave everyone the opportunity to rediscover Bordeaux in a different way.
This river cruise offered residents a moment of calm and escape on the Garonne. Seated on the deck of the boat, they enjoyed breathtaking views of the Bordeaux quays while listening to the explanations of a passionate guide.
"It's a very beautiful walk. We rediscover Bordeaux in a different way. It feels good to get out," confided one of the elders. Some shared memories of their youth in the city, a few even recognized their neighborhood in the distance, while others simply savored the scenery.
For the facilitator of Clos d'Aliénor, Gloria Gandonou, this type of outing, simple in appearance, nevertheless has a strong impact because "it allows you to create bonds, stimulate memory, and above all to experience a different moment together."
