Daix. Heatwave plan: registration remains open

Even though the intense heat has taken a break, vigilance remains essential. In Daix, the National Heatwave Plan (PNC), activated annually from June 1 to September 15, remains in place. The municipality invites elderly, isolated, or disabled people to register now on the municipal register. The goal: to be able to be contacted quickly in the event of another heatwave.
"The plan includes four alert levels," recalls Mayor Dominique Bégin-Claudet. "First, a seasonal watch (level 1), which corresponds to simple monitoring, then a heat warning (level 2), triggered during a brief heat peak (yellow alert). If the situation worsens, a heatwave alert (level 3) is activated: vulnerable people registered are then called regularly. Finally, level 4, known as maximum mobilization, is decided at the national level in the event of an intense, lasting heatwave with consequences beyond the purely health-related field (red alert)."
For this monitoring to be effective, the people concerned must be identified in advance. Hence the importance of registering on the municipal PNC register. This form can be completed by the person concerned or, with their consent, by a relative, a doctor, a legal representative or a home help service.
A flyer distributed through mailboxes reminds people of warning signs (cramps, headaches, dizziness, fever, etc.) and lists the cool spots available in Daix. The Maison de la Culture et des Associations has a 320-seat air-conditioned room. By the end of summer, the Parc des Tourelles will host a cool island, complete with misting systems and a water feature.
Even without an imminent heatwave, it's best to plan ahead. Registration remains open all summer.
