"A mass food poisoning": in Doubs, half of the wedding guests end up sick

A wedding gone wrong. Nearly half of the guests at a wedding held on Saturday, June 7, in Rougemont, Doubs (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), were victims of food poisoning .
The Regional Health Agency (ARS) told L'Est républicain that it had received "a report of a mass food poisoning incident that occurred last weekend at a wedding in Rougemont."
According to the ARS, "out of approximately 150 guests, 69 cases were identified by the organizers." However, no hospitalizations were reported.
On the day of the celebrations, Saturday, June 7, guests began the feast mid-afternoon after a civil ceremony at the town hall. They enjoyed appetizers and starters of toast, pizzas, and cakes, our colleagues detail. All homemade. Then, for the main course, spit-roasted heifer legs served with baked potatoes and string beans. Finally, for dessert, a strawberry cake and a chocolate cake, also homemade, were offered.
The bride and groom had planned to have another meal on Sunday at noon, but there was a problem: half the guests didn't show up, having suffered from food poisoning.
The regional unit of Public Health France and the departmental directorate for the protection of populations (DDPP) are conducting investigations to determine the origin of the poisoning.
