Skip the adArtus favours his audience over honours. While Un p'tit truc en plus is nominated in the category of best first film at the fiftieth César ceremony, its director will not be able to attend. He will be on stage in Pau, on the occasion of the tour in France of his new one-man show.
"Unfortunately, I will be at the Zénith in Pau on the day of the César ceremony," he said in an interview with Allociné . The big favorite in the best first film category with Un p'tit truc en plus , Artus nevertheless hopes to be awarded his first statuette live. "We will watch with the whole audience. We have a big screen. I think we will show at least that part of the Césars," he explained. "Either 7,000 of us will be happy, or 7,000 will say, 'Okay, let's continue the show!'" he said, not without humor.
Un p'tit truc en plus has achieved the best performance of the year at the French box office, accumulating nearly eleven million spectators in theaters since its release in May 2024. This year, The Count of Monte Cristo is the big favorite in the competition with fourteen nominations, including in the categories of best director, best film and actor for Pierre Niney , and best costumes. As for L'amour ouf by Gilles Lellouche and Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard, they are nominated thirteen and twelve times respectively.
