Visit the village of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac and the Château de l'Herm for Heritage Days
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the village of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac and the restoration of the Château de l'Herm will be presented to the public, this Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m.
This day will be devoted to two emblematic stories: the reconstruction of the village burned down during the tragedy of March 31, 1944, and the identical restoration of the Château de l'Herm made famous by Eugène Le Roy's novel and the series "Jacquou le Croquant". How to rebuild a village in an emergency ' Which architectural style to adopt ' How to bring a 16th century castle back to life without distorting it ' So many challenges taken up by architects, craftsmen and heritage enthusiasts, which you will discover through conferences in the morning and guided tours in the afternoon.
The day's program: from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., conferences at the Rouffignac village hall, Place Simone-Veil; At 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., discovery tour of the village of Rouffignac; At 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., guided tours of the Château de l'Herm.
