By SudOuest.fr

In the Paris region, thunderstorms claimed one victim Friday evening: a hunter in Yvelines, while a woman was seriously injured in Paris. In both cases, falling trees were the cause.

The violent orange storms that hit part of France on the night of Friday 13 to Saturday 14 June killed one person and injured several others in the Île-de-France region.

In Grandchamp, in the Yvelines department, a 68-year-old man died after a tree fell on a hunting lodge struck by lightning. Here reports that the man had just taken shelter with his hunting group during the storm. He died on the spot.

In Paris, a woman was seriously injured on Quai Saint-Bernard in the 5th arrondissement after a branch fell and was struck by lightning. She was resuscitated after suffering cardiorespiratory arrest and was urgently hospitalized at Henri-Mondor Hospital in Créteil. According to our colleagues, the overall death toll for the evening also included seven minor injuries, including two firefighters.
