The song of a passionate heart: soprano Maud Gnidzaz returns to her native region for two concerts in Antibes and Vence

Not so long ago, Maud Gnidzaz studied the transverse flute at the conservatory in her hometown of Antibes while singing in the children's choir at the cathedral. This is where her passion for music and singing was born.
Her life path resembles a true fairy tale. At the Antibes Sacred Art Festival, where he came to sing with his ensemble, the late Bernard Fabre-Garrus, founder of "A Sei Voci," discovered the young singer.
A graduate of the École du Louvre in 2001, she studied singing, trained in baroque gestures and rhetoric, and covered a vast repertoire from medieval music to contemporary creations.
She then joined William Christie's prestigious "Arts Florissants" ensemble and performed in the biggest international venues and festivals.
She recently played the First Witch in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, conducted by William Christie, at the Opéra Royal de Versailles. "I realized that expression and voice work are a tremendous spiritual journey of self-construction," explains Maud Gnidzaz.
Hence her passion for transmission and her desire to share her artistic and life experience. Hence also her interest in Hildegard Von Bingen, which she will perform in Antibes on September 10 and in Vence on the 11th at 8 p.m., and to which she will devote a masterclass in Antibes on Sunday the 14th.
" Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) was an extraordinary woman. The strength of this Rhineland Benedictine abbess has survived through the ages. Known for her writings on botany and medicine, she was also a great composer. Her monodies, songs for solo a cappella voices on spiritual poems inspired by her, are of striking beauty and power. Everything about her is dedicated to caring for the well-being of the body, the mind, and the elevation of the soul. We need it so much in these troubled times," continues the soprano.
