Next Monday, the Six n'Étoiles cinema will host a screening unlike any other. Just before the film Ollie, audiences will be able to discover Parle-moi, a silent but intensely expressive work, created collectively by eight young people doing civic service at the Mission locale de l'Ouest Var.
This short film delicately addresses a subject that is still too taboo: mental health and the feeling of isolation, even when you are surrounded by others.
An intimate and collective wordAwarded the 2025 "Graine de cinéaste" prize at the Vox Milo festival , Parle-moi demonstrates a beautiful freedom of tone and promising expertise. Anthony Roulois, a member of the collective, says: "We all worked on the script, then everyone contributed their expertise to make the film coherent and enjoyable to watch."
Among the talents identified, Redouane Benzina, in charge of 2D animation, has received numerous professional contacts. He is currently undergoing training to pursue this career path.
A subject of public utilityWhy this theme? "Because mental health is a subject that is too often silenced," explains Anthony. "I believe that the new generations need to express themselves much more than the older generations. We need to open up the dialogue."
The screening at the Six n'Étoiles was a real recognition: "It's a wonderful surprise. We're looking forward to two things: seeing our work on the big screen... and interacting with the audience."
Practical information: Monday, June 23 at 8 p.m. Screening of Parle-moi, then Ollie, followed by a discussion with the Lumières du Sud association. Single price: 5 euros.
The season is coming to a close, but the Lumières du Sud association still has two wonderful evenings in store before the summer break. This Monday at the Six n'Étoiles, spectators will be able to discover Ollie, presented at Cannes, followed by Les Confidentes, on June 30, fresh from the Berlin Film Festival.
Two exceptional screenings that confirm the dedication of the board members, present year-round at major festivals to offer a cutting-edge program, directly in touch with current events in the 7th art. "We seek out films where they are born, in the most recent selections," confides Pascale Parodi, president of the association for three years.
The result: twenty-eight screenings this season, most of which included meetings with film professionals, actors, directors, and producers, in a consistently friendly atmosphere. Among the highlights was the invitation from the Oscar-winning producer of the film Flow, who came to the Six n'Étoiles with his precious statuette, which spectators were able to approach... and even photograph.
But the best surprise came later: "We welcomed Karim Leklou at the end of last season for Le Roman de Jim. A few months later, he received the César Award for Best Actor for this role. It's a source of pride and a nice nod."
With 130 members, the club has reached a new record. The goal is now to reach 150 members by the start of the school year. Until then, the CLAB's outdoor screenings in Brusc will be hosted by Pascale Parodi. This is a way for the association to continue its activities throughout the year and for all audiences.
