Sex trafficking: Rapper P. Diddy faces trial

Puff Daddy's trial began this Monday, May 5. The rapper is accused of using his empire to support a violent sex trafficking scheme. A trial that both fascinates and horrifies Americans.
In New York this afternoon, one of P. Diddy's lawyers arrives at Manhattan federal court for the start of an unusual trial. Sean Combs , 55, one of America's biggest rap producers, is at the center of a massive sex scandal. It all began in 2023 with an initial complaint from his ex-partner, singer Cassie. She accused him of beating her for nearly a decade and raping her. A few months later, a video revealed a horrific scene: the rapper, in 2016, is seen violently beating his ex-partner while she lies on the ground.
A sequence that freed the voices of many other potential victims. More than 120 people now accuse the rapper of rape and sexual assault during hotel parties. Like Thalia Grave, who accuses him of raping her in 2001. “ The inner pain after being sexually assaulted was particularly profound and difficult to recount ,” she says. In March 2024, police searched his homes in Los Angeles and Miami. They discovered assault rifles and sex videos.
