Ribérac: The Musical Evenings promise an exceptional sound journey

Ribérac: The Musical Evenings promise an exceptional sound journey
The Europe Quartet will offer the public an original journey through concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and nocturnes by Friedrich Burgmüller. DR

Classical music, jazz and romantic guitars: the Ribérac Musical Evenings offer three unique concerts this Friday, July 18 in Faye and Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20 in the Notre-Dame collegiate church.

These evenings, organized by the Ribérac town hall and the Faye entertainment committee, promise exceptional moments with the participation of internationally renowned musicians. The public will be able to listen successively to: The Trio In Breve, from its repertoire of works called "The Essentials of Music," in other words, an anthology of classical pieces, opera excerpts, film music, and jazz. In short, a collection of music that belongs to the collective and generational musical unconscious, to be discovered this Friday, July 18, in the church of Faye.

Two key eras in the history of the guitar

As for the Quatuor Europe, it will offer the public an original journey on Saturday, July 19, around concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and nocturnes by Friedrich Burgmüller; instruments from different historical periods conversing, each with its own unique colors.

The Romantic Guitars duo will give a concert on Sunday, July 20, presenting two key eras in the history of the guitar. In the 19th century, the guitar was extremely popular, widely played, and highly listened to. Paris was the city of choice. In the 20th century, Spain and South America gave the instrument its finest letters of nobility through the works of composers such as Fernando Sor, Napoléon Coste, Enrique Granados, and Jorge Cardoso.

Concerts on Friday, July 18th, at 9 p.m. in the church of Faye, Saturday, July 19th, at 9 p.m. in the Notre-Dame collegiate church, and Sunday, July 20th, at 6 p.m. in the Notre-Dame collegiate church. Tickets: 15 euros for adults; 5 euros for children under 18; free for children under 10. Tickets can be collected at the concert entrance; no reservations are required. Contact: 05 53 92 41 51.
