Portrait of Rubens, XXL piece by Mickey, installation by Niki de Saint Phalle... An artistic journey to discover until July 12 in Monaco

Admire a Rubens , be enthralled by a creation by Niki de Saint Phalle , immerse yourself in the photographic world of Annie Leibovitz , the poetry of Minjung Kim 's paintings or Eric Massholder's homage to Van Gogh . All this, in the time it takes to stroll.
Only Monaco Art Week allows this.
Bringing together some fifteen galleries from the Principality, the seventh edition is a sort of small, diverse museum where, in each corner, a gallery owner plans to showcase the best of their artists and their walls. And the walk has two advantages: it's fun and free. And it's organized without appointment or reservation from July 7 to 12.
Among the beautiful things in the gardens of Petite Afrique, Artcurial has installed its monumental sculptures for the sixth year. The one of César is impressive. Like this male head by Christophe Charbonnel, which perfectly matches the atmosphere of the garden.
At Opera Gallery , the team is making a strong showing, as they do every year, by bringing together 20th-century masters on its walls: Chagall, Picasso, Soulages, Léger, Calder. There are also beautiful pieces by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama , and an XXL Mickey Mouse by Keith Haring. A guaranteed selection and proven good taste.
Good taste is also found in part of Manny Davidson 's collection, which Sotheby's will auction this fall in Paris, but whose key pieces are being shown for this Monaco Art Week. The collector cherished paintings and beautiful objects from the Renaissance to the 18th century. A passion that led him to fall for this 1614 portrait attributed to Rubens.
Experts weren't sure, but Manny Davidson had fallen in love with this piece, acquired before it was formally identified as a painting by the Dutch master.
Hofa 's work showcases the work of Bran Symondson , a former British Special Forces soldier who repurposes weapons of war to adorn them with butterflies. A desire for peace and love that echoes the poetry of Looking at Horizons, the exhibition at the Almine Reich gallery.
For its seventh edition, Monaco Art Week demonstrates that the gallery world has evolved in the Principality in recent years, becoming more professional and showcasing works of real interest. And that's good.
Participating galleries are Arcurial, Christie's, Collect MC, Hauser & Wirth, Hofa, Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo, Kamil Art Gallery, Elisabeth Lillo-Renner, Moretti Fine Art, Opera Gallery, Almine Reich, Adriano Ribolzi, Sotheby's, Teos Gallery, and MF Toninelli Art Moderne. Opening reception in the galleries on Monday, July 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
