Media: Anne-Sophie Lapix will join RTL and M6 at the start of the school year

Having been removed from presenting the 8 p.m. news on France 2, Anne-Sophie Lapix will join RTL radio in the fall to host the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. slot, as well as the M6 ​​channel for an interview on Sundays, the M6 ​​group announced in a press release.

From August 25th on RTL, Anne-Sophie Lapix will take over the 18/20 news , succeeding Yves Calvi, the station's owner group announced. On the M6 ​​TV channel, "it will offer a major Sunday interview every week with a personality who is in the news" , from "the political, economic, cultural or societal world" , the group added.

In addition, Anne-Sophie Lapix "will take charge of special evening events on M6 devoted to major political, societal or current affairs issues" , particularly "in the context of upcoming elections" .

In an internal message, RTL CEO Jonathan Curiel said he "warmly thanked Yves (Calvi) and his team for this season on the 18/20 news" and would discuss "with them regarding next season." For the past year, Yves Calvi has hosted the 6 p.m.-8 p.m. slot with journalist Agnès Bonfillon, after having hosted RTL's morning show for ten years.

RTL, France's second-largest radio station, announced another major recruitment in mid-May: Marc Olivier Fogiel, who ran the BFMTV channel for five years and will return behind the microphone for a daily morning interview next season.

A mainstay of France 2's 8 p.m. news for eight years, Anne-Sophie Lapix will step down from the helm of the television news in mid-July, following a decision by France Télévisions management, which has not yet announced her successor.
