Kompromat, a duo formed by Vitalic and Rebeka Warrior, is ready to deliver an explosive show this Saturday at Mas des Escaravatiers

Pascal, also known as Vitalic, an electronic music producer and composer, and Julia, aka Rebeka Warrior, singer of the bands Sexy Sushi and Mansfield. TYA, the two members of the duo Kompromat, don't let themselves be pigeonholed. Their music, halfway between electro and punk, is the result of an organic collaboration where ideas flow without defined rules. "It can be Julia sending me loops that I modify or me giving her concepts or directions on lyrics," explains Vitalic.

The duo will be performing this Saturday, August 2nd at Mas des Escaravatiers, in Puget-sur-Argens. A venue Vitalic has already played at, solo in 2015: "I loved the place, it's a completely incredible setting." Their first album, Traum und Existenz , released in 2019, is almost entirely in German. A boldness that ended up defining their identity: "Julia wasn't German-speaking, but it was a key for her, it unlocked a whole bunch of things for us. It allowed us to distance ourselves from our respective projects."

Between chaos and magic on stage

In their latest album, PLAYING / PRAYING , released in January 2024, no more German lyrics, but the return of French and English. Far from calculated strategies, their compass remains visceral. A credo that requires them to evolve without denying themselves: "It would have been a lie to want to reproduce in 2024 an emotion that we had in 2018" .

Their first concert, in a Parisian club located under the ring road, remains etched in their memory: "It was forbidden to those under 18, people were naked... it was really crazy!" Vitalic laughs. On stage, the duo takes on the unexpected, like this 40kg smoke machine that refused to work in front of 15,000 people. But for Kompromat, imperfection is also part of the show: "We take everything with humor." On stage, the duo isn't there to flatter, but to electrify.
