From usherette to columnist on France Inter, comedian Emma Bojan arrives on stage in Saint-Paul de Vence, Nice and Toulon

She is not yet 25 years old, yet Emma Bojan does chronicles on the airwaves of France Inter, accumulates more than 200,000 subscribers on her social networks and tours all over France with her first show Attends-moi j'arrive , to be seen on October 25 in Nice and December 13 in Toulon. And before that, this Saturday, September 13, she will be at the festival Les Remparts du Rire, in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

Your first show is called Wait for Me, I'm Coming . Is it stand-up?

Not really. I started with stage shows and comedy clubs, but I stopped because I found it too hard to perform five times a night. In the show, I make jokes, of course, and I talk to the audience like a stand-up comedian, but I also add music, characters, and more poetic texts. It's a show that's in motion and that moves, like me. Every night, I try something new: sometimes without a microphone, sometimes with video, sometimes just playing on the text...

You went from being a theater usher to a columnist on France Inter. How did you get there?

I had said that I was interested in the idea of going on stage. I did a few tests, and I quickly found myself opening for Alexis Le Rossignol. A little later, Marina Rollman came across one of my videos on Instagram, and Alexis, who already knew me and who was already doing radio broadcasts, passed on my number. That's how I ended up at France Inter. It's a huge opportunity, and it's also very symbolic. At school, when people asked me what I wanted to do later, I wrote "do radio broadcasts"!

You also seem very comfortable on your Instagram and TikTok accounts. What's your relationship with social media?

I'm definitely not into strategy. I'd love to be a woman of mystery, but that's not me. I never post out of obligation: as soon as it becomes forced, I stop. What I like is spontaneity and closeness. When I meet subscribers, they immediately address me informally. I have this funny good friend thing going for me, and it suits me very well.

Saturday, September 13th in Saint-Paul-de-Vence for Les Remparts du Rire. From 24.50 to 29.50 euros. Saturday, October 25th at the Nouvelle Comédie, in Nice. 24 euros

Saturday, December 13 at the Colbert Theater in Toulon. 24 euros.
