Bois-Banal reveals its mysteries under the spotlight

During three performances last weekend, Le Hérisson Masqué presented its new sound and light show at Bois-Banal despite the unpredictable weather.
On the evenings of July 25, 26, and 27, the public discovered this show, showcasing the restored Bois-Banal site. Saturday was sold out, and Sunday, despite the uncertain weather, the performance, which went ahead, attracted many spectators.
The troupe and volunteer actors, from local associations, will return to the stage this weekend, August 1 , 2 and 3.
Following the success of "The Mystery of the Presles Chapel," Le Hérisson Masqué wanted to showcase Bois-Banal with a magnificent sound and light show. Nearly 70 actors and extras take over this forest theater every evening. The sustained applause and excellent feedback from the first weekend motivate volunteers to continue these events. Written by Paul Ermio and directed by Etienne Burgy, "The Mystery of Bois-Banal" explores the disturbing disappearances that have marked this place throughout the ages. From the white lady to the gypsies, from the beggar to the pack of wolves, who has committed the irreparable over the years? Between news items and history, beliefs and superstitions, this poetic mystery mixes great history and personal stories.
The show, which welcomes up to 300 people per evening, brings together members of the Brotherhood of Shapers, basket makers from the CDPV, and musicians from the Fa Sonneurs. The refreshment and food area (fries, grilled meats, ice cream) is run by the fair committee.
