Best-selling books: Adèle Yon takes off, Bérénice Pichat is coming
Every Saturday, we take a look at the public's favorite books. This week, a bestseller and a long-seller.

Not everything is rosy in the book world, but the rankings open and close with good news. Adèle Yon overtakes Raphaël Quenard this week and, thanks to her media presence, word of mouth, and several awards, takes the top spot. Since its publication in February, My Real Name Is Elisabeth has sold 70,000 copies, for a cumulative print run of 135,000. At the other end of the scale, La Petite Bonne by Bérénice Pichat, released in August 2024, has regained the top 10 thanks to the highly influential Prix des Libraires it received in May. "The award gave a boost to an already strong title," notes its publisher, Lola Nicolle, at Avrils. Without additional promotion, "between 1,000 and 2,000 copies are sold per week." The red banner, a guarantee of quality, is enough to give it a second wind. The novel has now been reprinted ten times and sold 53,000 copies. In addition, it features testimonials, crime fiction, reporting, fantasy, comics, and even nutritional advice. There's plenty to eat and drink. T.St.
