The European Union has released financial aid to Radio Free Europe, which has been deprived of funding by Washington. This support is provided to a historic media outlet, created in the United States during the Cold War, which provides free information to many non-democratic countries.

The EU will grant €5.5 million in aid to Radio Free Europe (RFE) to "support independent journalism, whose role is more important than ever," announced Kaja Kallas , head of diplomacy for the Twenty-Seven, following a meeting of their foreign ministers on Tuesday, May 20. The former Estonian prime minister has made a strong personal commitment to supporting this media outlet, which, created in the United States during the Cold War, contributed to the fall of communist regimes in Central Europe in the 1990s.
