16-year-old boy shot dead in Eure

Emergency services who discovered the body of the teenager, a cyclist, initially believed it was a hit-and-run accident, before discovering at least two gunshot wounds.
A sixteen-year-old teenager was shot dead Friday evening in Vernon (Eure). The body of the teenager, a cyclist, was found by police following a call from the fire brigade suspecting a traffic accident, including a hit-and-run, shortly before midnight.
At least two gunshot wounds were discovered on the victim.
Traces of blood on the ground led to the crime scene, located a few hundred meters from where the teenager was discovered. The firearm was not found at the scene.
The Specialized Organized Crime Division (DCOS, formerly PJ) has been notified.
